good morning.  i am sharing a layout created with literal SCRAPS from my June Funky Town Scraptastic Scrapbooking Kits.

  i literally created my background patterned paper with my scraps, some 1/2" by 1", just scraps, and am very happy that i had enough to create a background, whew!

 

 my circles were create using Jillibean Soup Placemats.  while i have a Cameo could easily cut it myself, it's wonderful to have these placemats, they are gorgeous and the perfect weight

 love my October Afternoon Daily Flash date stamps, use it ALL the time

 this was my eldest son being.....

well,

fun, nifty, crazy and awesome....giggle

when your kids are off to college, you do not getting many of these moments anymore.  moments we try never to take for granted but that pass us all by far too quickly.  i cherish these memories of this trip, it was fun, cool, quirky, nifty, and yes even a whole lot of retro at the antique faire.

 

 this is definitely a sunday i won't soon forget!  he is hilarious, fun, cool, hip and just makes this mommy laugh like no other

and this isn't the only layout i am going to share this month.  i create a lot of layouts a month, document our story, but don't share often, not because of any reason other than i put them in albums and the next page of the story has been added to the book.  i want my kids to read the book when i am finished, seems more fun that way, someday, it's what they'll have.  so, while i haven't shared with them, i'll share another layout here :)  smile

♥ OA Travel Girl Sketch ♥

good morning!  i am up today on the October Afternoon blog today with a new sketch and card using the Travel Girl line.  

when going through my embellishments and papers from the Travel Girl line, i knew i wanted to create a sketch that would allow lots of freedom to play with some of my favorite embellishments from this line.

♥ October Afternoon Travel Girl Blog Hop ♥

Hello and Welcome to the October Afternoon Travel Girl Blog Hop

The October Afternoon Travel Girl line is going to go down as an all-time favorite October Afternoon line for me.  I love, love the blues, greens, reds, grey, orange and yellow ALL together.  It makes this line so much more versatile than at first glance, a line perfect for my boys and perfect for my daughter who loves to wear red and orange.  (And YES, there's pink too, it has it all)  I love the "B" sides on all these pages and the "A" sides are perfect for those who want/need a travel-theme.

To show just how versatile this line is, I created a "baby sleeping" door hanger, "thanks coach" pillowbox and a card using the papers in this line, loooove this line.  I will also share a "sneak peek" of a card created with this line for my OA Blog Post tomorrow. (another color palette in addition to the ones below)

I think these "Do Not Disturb" Miscellany cards are going to go down as all-time faves of mine, the images are soooo cute and I can think of so many uses for them non-travel related

 Not only are the cards fabulous, but the stickers and buttons having me swooning!

Next up is a pillowbox I created for one of our basketball coaches this year.  We intend to put some cash in there, he commuted to and from practice and gas money is always a necessity this day in age...smile

 I cut the pillowbox using my Cameo file and large enough to hold some money for gas.  And
I thought it would be fun to have a little play on the theme of the line and since you can read "Paris" and "London"

♥ 10 minute Craft Dash ♥

happy summer!  oh how happy summer!

i am enjoying every moment with the kids, it's a blessing.  basketball camps, hiking, kayaking, ropes
course, bike riding, trampoline contests and sprinklers, it's a whirlwind, but it's AWESOME!  i love every second of it with the kids.  and don't forget the otter pops, i see them and think of summer's past, small things with big memories right?

on a crafty side, i was blog-surfing some of my favorite blogs and one of my friends, Amy Tsuruta,

had posted a fun challenge from 10 Minute Craft Dash : create a card with the colors red, light yellow and light blue in LESS than 10 TIMED minutes.  i HAD to take the challenge, i've never heard of this and never actually timed myself, this was FUN

here is the card i was able to come up with using the My Mind's Eye Sunny Side collection which i thought would be perfect palette for the color challenge

Party Time Card

 i create pretty quickly once i pick a line or color scheme, so i thought this would be very easy, though i've never timed myself and how long it actually takes me to craft a card.  i will confess that this WAS a challenge.  i love to stitch on my cards and so running back to the other office and still having time to adhere everything together was a wee bit tricky, but thankfully i had minimal amounts of time to spare as you'll see on my phone.

i am thankful for these SRM stickers too, made creating the sentiment VERY quick and easy, and that's exactly what i needed, giggle.

and, while i had this line out for this challenge, i decided to create a NON 10 minute card using my scraps...giggle

 i absolutely LOVE this brad, and haven't brought myself to use it until now, but it was the perfect center for the flower, love it!

and what would a post be without a Christmas card?  not staying on schedule...that's what that would be, ha ha ha, not this girl, not this year, i'm a determined mama and actually having MORE fun creating my cards because it's focusing on a little at a time, i'm a little surprised.  i didn't think i would get in the mood, but since it's only one card at a time, it's fun to focus on design or cute embellies and not the stress of it all.

on this card, i punched a circles and adhered the circle INSIDE of the circle so when you open it, you see the Street Sign inside the card.  this still keeps the card flat/mailable, but allows for a little dimension with the cut-out.
